Facility Engagement Initiative

Facility Engagement was launched by the Specialist Services Committee in 2016 as a BC-wide initiative to strengthen communication, relationships and collaboration between facility-based physicians and their health authorities. The goal is to increase meaningful physician involvement in health authority decisions about their work environment and the delivery of patient care.

Family Practice Services Committee

FPSC works on behalf of doctors to strengthen full-service family practice and patient care in BC and is one of four joint collaborative committees that represent a partnership of the Government of BC and Doctors of BC. The Divisions originated through the negotiation of the Physician Master Agreement (PMA) between the Ministry of Health (MOH), Doctors of BC (DoBC) and health authorities. The PMA gave the Family Practice Services Committee (FPSC) the authority to establish the Divisions of Family Practice (DoFP) initiative.

Connecting you to a family physician

It can be tempting to diagnose and treat yourself, in the mistaken belief that your colleagues should save their precious time for those in greater need. But we’re all familiar with William Osler’s famous advice to the contrary.

Having a solid relationship with a family physician of your own is an essential component of professional practice in medicine. We can connect you with a trusted colleague.

For more information visit the Physician Health Program or call 1-800-663-6729.

Rural Coordination Centre of BC

We’re driven by relationships and a passion for rural health equity in British Columbia.

Since our inception in 2006, the Rural Coordination Centre of British Columbia (RCCbc) has grown into a network of hundreds of people—rural physicians and other healthcare providers, healthcare administrators, community members, policymakers, educators, researchers, and non-profit and business leaders—guided by the principles of cultural safety and humility.

Our work ranges from facilitating rural health discussions to coordinating rural health initiatives, we help British Columbia’s rural doctors deliver timely, safe and effective team-based care.
