Treasurer’s role
The Treasurer is paid an annual stipend from the unincorporated medical staff association
- Claim 30 minutes for reviewing meeting documents prior to meeting
- Annually pay president’s stipend in September
- Oversight of the financial controls and procedures of the MSA
- Works closely with the senior staff lead to maintain financial records
- Reviews finances regularly to ensure order and accuracy
- Gives regular reports on the financial status of the MSA and leads the governance table in understanding and decision-making in regard to finances
- Collects dues (when relevant) and maintains records of funds received and expended
- Keep financial reports on file
- Oversees the preparation of annual financial statements to be presented to membership
- Responds to annual audit and ensures audit issues and recommendations are addressed
- Orientation: Knowledge transfer of role with incoming Treasurer, including the history of the MSA, current Board issues, and a review of the Memorandum of Understanding (Board, March 29, 2022)
- Provide timeline of payments and names / titles of relevant people (Board, March 29, 2022)
- Co-approve electronic funds transfers
